The past few years have been a relentless fight for dignity and equality for LGBTQ+ young people in South Carolina, especially transgender youth. Several discriminatory policies have become law – but in 2023 our community came together to push back against some of the cruelest proposals, including multiple bans on medically necessary healthcare for transgender youth.
In 2024 we will be in for the fight of our lives – and we want to start the 2024 legislative session out strong. Let’s come together during the first week of the 2024 session in Columbia, SC to make our voices heard loud and clear that South Carolina loves and supports transgender youth and will do everything in our power to preserve dignity and equality for all.
Please RSVP for the Day of Action for Freedom in SC event, a legislative kick-off on Wednesday, January 10, in Columbia at the SC Statehouse. The SC United coalition will team up with other coalitions to join in solidarity against attacks on transgender youth, LGBTQ+ equality, truthful school curriculum, and reproductive healthcare.
